ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ: ਨਗਰ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੂੜਾ ਕਰਕਟ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਲਈ ਪੱਕੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ਲੱਗ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਹਾਲਾਤ ਇੰਨੇ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਨਰਕ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਸਥਿਤੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੀਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

ਹੈਰਾਨੀ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਲਾਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਬਣੇ ਹੈਂਡਬਾਲ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕੂੜੇ ਦਾ ਡੰਪ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੂੜੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਿੰਨ-ਚਾਰ ਟਰਾਲੀਆਂ ਸੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਰੋਸ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਦਸਮੇਸ਼ ਹੈਂਡਬਾਲ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਕਲੱਬ ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਮੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਕਿਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਣਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨਗਰ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਭਟੇੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੂੜਾ ਡੰਪ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਠੇਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਲਈ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਨੇੜਲੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਬਰਦਸਤ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਡੰਪ ਹਟਾਉਣਾ ਪਿਆ। ਕਈ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਮੋੜ ਅਤੇ ਗਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੂੜੇ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਮੱਖੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਛਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਫੈਲਣ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਵਧ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਨਗਰ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਾਧਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਰਵੀ ਜਿੰਦਲ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉੱਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਕੂੜਾ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਲਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਥੋਂ ਬਦਲੀ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ।

ਦਸਮੇਸ਼ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ—ਡਾ. ਨਿਰਮਲ ਧਿਮਾਨ, ਹਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸੂਦ ਅਤੇ ਮਨਜੀਤ ਭਾਟੀਆ—ਵੱਲੋਂ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਕੋਲ ਜ਼ੋਰਦਾਰ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਖੇਡ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਕੂੜਾ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਹਟਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੂੜਾ ਨਿਪਟਾਰੇ ਲਈ ਪੱਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸੰਭਾਵਿਤ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਅ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।

Morinda: Garbage piles up in different parts of the city due to the lack of a permanent place to dump garbage by the Morinda Municipal Council. The situation has deteriorated so much that people have been forced to live in hell-like conditions.

Surprisingly, an attempt is being made to turn the handball ground built at a cost of lakhs of rupees into a garbage dump. Three or four garbage trolleys have been dumped on the ground, which has led to huge anger among the players and their parents.
Kishan Singh Rana, vice president of Dashmesh Handball Sports Club, Morinda, said that earlier the municipal council had taken the land on lease for dumping garbage in Bhateri village, but the dump had to be removed due to strong protests from the farmers of nearby villages. Despite the passage of several months, the new venue has not yet been arranged.

This has resulted in heaps of garbage in every nook and corner of the city from where flies and mosquitoes are breeding. This has increased the risk of spreading diseases and created an atmosphere of fear among the people.

When contacted, Ravi Jindal, executive officer of Morinda Municipal Council, said that the higher authorities are asked to maintain cleanliness, but there is a big problem due to lack of space to dump garbage. He also said that he had also demanded a transfer from here due to the situation.

Leaders of Dashmesh Sports Club and social workers. Nirmal Dhiman, Harvinder Sood and Manjeet Bhatia have strongly demanded to the Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar to immediately remove the garbage dumped at the playground and make a permanent arrangement for waste disposal in the city.
