ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਆਗੂ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਬਿਕਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੇ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਸੈਂਟਰਲ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਅਸ਼ੋਕ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਪੱਪੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਸ਼ਰ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਮਨੀ ਲਾਂਡਰਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਈਡੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

ਉਸਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੁੱਟਮਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਫੋਨ ਖੋਹ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਸਭਰਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਸਕੇ।

Shiromani Akali Dal senior leader Sardar Bikram Singh Majithia has demanded an Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe against Aam Aadmi Party’s Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Kumar Pappi Prashar, alleging money laundering and large-scale corruption.
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, Majithia claimed that MLA Pappi Prashar allegedly used the bank accounts of his personal assistant Nikhil Sabharwal to carry out large-scale financial transactions. He alleged that around Rs 1.10 crore was collected from 87 persons recruited on contract and 39 persons recruited as clerks in Ludhiana Municipal Corporation on the promise of providing jobs.
Majithia alleged that fake lists were prepared showing the candidates as selected, but when the matter came to light, the personal assistant was allegedly asked to leave the city.
Presenting documents, he claimed that on March 8, 2024, Rs 90 lakh was transferred from Canada into Nikhil Sabharwal’s bank account, and later the amount was transferred to different accounts. Similarly, he alleged that on April 24, 2025, Rs 30 lakh was deposited into the same account by a building inspector from Ludhiana.
Majithia said evidence of closeness between the MLA and the building inspector also emerged through a recommendation letter allegedly written to get the inspector’s transfer cancelled.
He further alleged that when information regarding the case was shared on social media, a false case was registered against Nikhil Sabharwal and raids were conducted at his residence by Ludhiana Police.
Speaking on the occasion, Nikhil Sabharwal claimed that he started working as Pappi Prashar’s personal assistant in 2022 and money was collected from people on the promise of securing jobs. He said when no jobs were provided, he had to sell his house and return Rs 30 lakh due to pressure from the affected persons.
He also alleged that he was assaulted and his mobile phone was snatched away. Sabharwal demanded that the case be transferred from Ludhiana Police to a central investigating agency so that the truth can come out.
