ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੀਜੀਪੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ “ਯੁੱਧ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ” ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਤਹਿਤ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਅਭਿਆਨ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ Punjab Police ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਸੰਦੇਹੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ, ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਕ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਠਿਕਾਣਿਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਛਾਪੇਮਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।

ਦਿਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਗਸ਼ਤ ਤੇ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜਦਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਵੇਲੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ 32 ਨਾਕਾ ਪੁਆਇੰਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਵਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ 6 ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸੀਲਿੰਗ ਪੁਆਇੰਟਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਵਧੀਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਬਲ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ, ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਹਿਰਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।

ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਖਰੀਦਦਾਰੀ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਅਭਿਆਨ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਰਾਤ ਸਮੇਂ “ਨਾਈਟ ਡੋਮੀਨੇਸ਼ਨ ਐਕਸਰਸਾਈਜ਼” ਤਹਿਤ ਤਿੰਨ ਗਜ਼ਟਿਡ ਦਰਜੇ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਥਾਣਾ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਪਰਾਧਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖੀ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।

ਐੱਸਐੱਸਪੀ Surinder Lamba ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਅਭਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨਾ, ਅਪਰਾਧਕ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਡਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਲਤ ਰੁਝਾਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਸਹੀ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇਣ।

ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਲਤ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕੜੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਭਿਆਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਨ-ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਵੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ।

In Tarn Taran, as per the directions of DGP Punjab, a special drive was launched under the “War Against Drugs” campaign against gangsters. Meanwhile, raids were conducted by the Punjab Police in the morning at the premises of suspected persons, drug smugglers and accomplices of criminal elements.

Patrolling and checking were carried out at various places during the day, while special blockades were conducted in the entire district in the evening. 32 Naka points in the district were covered and additional police force was deployed at 6 district sealing points. Suspicious vehicles, motorcycles and individuals were thoroughly checked.

Checking drives were also conducted in markets and shopping centres in Tarn Taran city. During the night, surveillance was carried out by three gazetted rank officers and Station Heads of Police Stations as part of the “Night Domination Exercise” to keep a check on criminal activities.

SSP Surinder Lamba said that the aim of this campaign is to strengthen the sense of security among the people, control criminal elements and create fear against drugs. He appealed to parents to keep a vigil on the activities of the youth and give them proper guidance to keep them away from wrong tendencies.

Police have warned that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in misuse of weapons or any criminal act. Police claim that such drives are helping maintain peace in the district and the operation will continue.
