ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀਪੂਰਵਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਚੱਜੇ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਸਕਣਗੀਆਂ।

Morinda: Maintaining law and order in Morinda city and tightening the grip on drug trafficking and property crimes will be the top priority of the police. These views were expressed by newly appointed SHO Inspector Gagandeep Singh while interacting with journalists at City Police Station Morinda.
He said that under the directions of SSP Maninder Singh IPS, strict action will be taken against anti-social elements involved in drug trafficking, snatching and theft incidents in the area so that residents can feel safe and secure.
He further stated that under the government’s ongoing “War Against Drugs” campaign, the police are continuously taking action. FIRs are being registered against drug peddlers and strict legal action is being ensured. At the same time, drug-addicted youth are being sent to de-addiction centers for counseling so that they can return to normal life.
Inspector Gagandeep Singh said that night patrolling in the city will be intensified and checkpoints will be set up at various locations to prevent snatching, theft and other crimes. Besides this, keeping traffic and road safety in view, accident-prone points will be identified and coordination will be established with the civil administration for speed breakers, lights and other necessary arrangements.
He added that action will also be taken jointly with the civil administration and market committee to remove illegal encroachments from roads so that traffic can move smoothly. He assured that the police team is alert round the clock and is working with full dedication for the safety of the public.
On this occasion, in view of the upcoming elections, he appealed to city residents to deposit all their licensed weapons at the concerned police station before the 26th. He said this step is aimed at maintaining law and order during the elections and preventing any untoward incident.
He urged the public to fully cooperate with the police administration, adding that only with everyone’s support can the elections be conducted peacefully and smoothly.
